Lukomir tour - the highest and most distant village in B&H
Looking for Old Bosnian villages? Enjoy traditional Bosnian food? A fan of nature? Love hiking? Join our Lukomir tour – the highest and most distant village in B&H.
- Lukomir is a populated place in the municipality of Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The village of Lukomir is a mountain village located on the southern slopes of Bjelašnica at 1495 meters above sea level, which makes it the highest inhabited place in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the only one above 1300 m. Based on the stećak found in the village and dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries, it is believed that the village was inhabited hundreds of years ago.
- Today’s inhabitants of the village are descendants of shepherds from the Herzegovinian villages of Kamen and Žulj in the vicinity of Stoca, who kept large flocks of sheep here in the summer because of the extremely rich pastures. Building the first seasonal settlements (apartments), which later grew into today’s village, people from the tribes of Čomora and Masleša, who are still the most numerous families in Gornji Lukomir, settled here.

Kevin Raabe2023-09-08My mother visited Sarajevo and for the time I was in the office I contacted Amar to arrange a custom tour. She couldn't have been happier with the tour he put together but also his approach and helpfulness. He even changed the itinerary slightly when she really wanted to see a specific museum. Pick up and drop off were timely, food was great. If I could give 6 stars I would!Asim Mohammed2023-07-21Met with Amar to have a walking tour of Sarajevo to discover the war history of the city. Was a fantastic experience, especially as we had young children and he made them feel very comfortable.SLUTN AlGHAMDi .2023-02-02??Emx Tourism2023-01-27Professional and quality work ?❤️Haris Mesic2023-01-27Absolutely recommended.
